Childhood vaccinations

We provide a range of vaccinations at The London Medical Clinic.  In most circumstances, childhood vaccinations are administered according to the recommendations of the Department of Health, Hong Kong, unless requested otherwise.  We also know how important it is that children travelling round the globe follow the immunisation schedule of their nationality as well and therefore additional vaccinations may be required.  You will find our doctors are knowledgeable of the immunisation records for different countries and are able to review your records and adapt schedules accordingly.  We are happy to discuss and address any parental concerns about vaccinations.

HPV Vaccine
The vaccine protects against sub-types of HPV (Human Papilloma Virus) which can cause cancer of the cervix and genital warts. The vaccine is highly effective and immunity lasts for many years and possibly life.  It is not yet known if booster injections are necessary. Vaccinations consists of 3 injections at 0, 2 and 6 months.  The same 2 vaccines are used worldwide.  We recommend vaccination of girls at the ages of 13 and 14 years.  It is licensed for women and girls from 9 to 45 years and can now also be given to boys and men.
