Dispensing of Medication
We have an in-house pharmacist who ensures that our dispensary stocks a large range of medication and vaccinations, so most prescriptions can be supplied directly to the patient without the need to go to another pharmacy straight after seeing the doctor. Repeat medications can also be arranged for long term treatments after discussion with the doctor.
We are aware that our patients maybe on medications from different countries before their move to HK. We strive to provide them with the same brand, or if unavailable, a suitable substitute.
Kindly note that for safety reasons, we will not be able to refund medication once it has been dispensed, according to the WHO guidelines.
Repeat Prescriptions
Repeat prescriptions should generally only be issued for patients with stabilised chronic conditions. They are not appropriate for acute conditions. The principles of the repeat prescribing system will be explained to a patient when repeat medication is first issued.
We aim to improve the safety of our repeat prescription service by ensuring that we review the patient’s medications with them. This provides an opportunity to discuss any questions they may have about their treatment. Repeat prescriptions carry a ‘Review Date’. Staff will notify you about the review date, or in the meantime if you see the doctor/nurse you may also be notified by them. Please make a note of this date when you receive your prescription. After the last issue, patients must contact their doctor to discuss their medication.
